Our Challenge is the name of the newsletter that I helped to produce during my stay in Bonn, West Germany.

Germany was a exciting challenge for me. I first went to Germany on a trip with my secondary school. I was impressed by the Autobahn, by the river Rhein and by the way everything was organized. So when, at the end of my studies, I was asked to volunteer to go there for a campaign of seven months it was easy to say yes.

When I was 23 years old I left my homeland without looking back. My travels took me all over Germany and to various countries around the world. I witnessed the re-unification of Germany. I would like to share my opinion and insight into how and why the Berlin Wall fell.

Many years have passed since I returned. I would like to publish some of my writing on the Internet. I am sure that this medium can be used to further the understanding of the time we live in and the amazing future that awaits us. There is still a long way to go until peace can come everywhere in the world. However difficult it may seem, we have come a long way. Just think for a minute - If the Berlin Wall could fall then why not the other barriers that mankind has errected.

It was an answer to our prayers to see the Berlin Wall come down. It is beyond the scope of a personal website like this to educate or explain historical events. However, I invite you to read my reflections and view the photos that I made a generation ago. Perhaps for researchers in the future it may be of interest. For myself the existence of my diaries and notebooks from that time are a source of inspiration and hope.
